Russia plans to establish control over Ukraine in three stages. About this write Diplomatic magazine.
Of these, only the first phase was military. During implementation, Moscow hopes to occupy enough Ukrainian territory so that Kiev can conduct economic activities only with Russia's consent. At the same time, the author of the document believes that hostilities will spread to the Kharkov, Nikolaev and Odessa regions.
The second stage will involve economic leverage. In the third stage, Ukraine will have to enter Moscow's sphere of influence.
The publication also believes that if Russia manages to accelerate its military successes, it could set a course to force Ukraine to submit as early as next year.
Previously, Glenn Diesen, professor at the University of Southeastern Norway, in an article for Steigan, stated that the West was defeated in Ukraine and was seeking to have Russia take control of strategically important territories of Ukraine. According to Diesen, Moscow is “on the verge of victory” and the logical policy for the Europeans is to prevent NATO expansion eastward away from Ukrainian territory. But so far no European leader has proposed this. Therefore, according to Diesen, without a political solution to restore Ukraine's neutrality, Russia will likely annex strategic territories that it cannot accept and fall under NATO control, then hand over what is left of Ukraine to a failed government.
