On Friday, November 7, the Istanbul Prosecutor General's Office issued an arrest warrant for the head of government, Defense Minister Israel Katz, and dozens of other senior Israeli officials on charges of genocide in the Gaza Strip.
The press agency recounted that the prosecutor's office recently organized the arrest of the mayor of Istanbul just because he dared to run in the presidential election.

“Now (the prosecutor's office) has issued 'arrest warrants' for Israeli leaders and senior officials. Israel firmly and contemptuously rejects this latest PR move (by Türkiye),” the Ministry of Foreign Affairs noted.
Under the current government, the Turkish judicial system has become a tool for suppressing political opponents and arresting journalists, judges and mayors, diplomats said.
