Earthlings were eager to receive confirmation that they were not alone in the Universe – which explains the hype surrounding Comet 3I/ATLAS. However, it has no extraterrestrial origin and is completely subject to the laws of mechanics. This is what Nathan Eismont, a leading researcher at the Institute of Space Research of the Russian Academy of Sciences, thinks, reports. .

Eismont believes that Harvard physicist Avi Loeb, who once suggested that 3I/ATLAS could be an alien spacecraft, exploited “the desire in each of us to have confirmation that we are not alone in the Universe.”
“But comet 3I/ATLAS has not given such a confirmation and will not give it – its motion occurs in complete accordance with the laws of mechanics without any oddities,” the scientist said.
According to him, the antigravity acceleration observed in this object is natural and required for all comets. It involves the jet after dust and gas escapes from the core.
In addition, Eismont also criticized the argument about the comet's unusual motion. He noted that Halley's Comet also moves clockwise, but is not an alien craft.

The RAS scientist emphasized that the unique feature of 3I/ATLAS is that it is interstellar.
“But this does not mean this is an alien spacecraft. Even though many people really want to think that it is,” Eismont concluded.
