By 2030, the Russian government is waiting for proposals to exploit jellyfish in the Sea of Azov and further process them. There is a corresponding point in the development strategy of the Azov region, reported. The results of research on this issue by the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation and Rosrybolovstvo must be presented to the Cabinet of Ministers during this period. As stated in the strategy, “high salinity, water temperature and earlier warming in spring significantly increase the growth efficiency” of all types of plankton in the Sea of Azov. These include jellyfish, ctenophores, and several other organisms. Previously, Deputy Minister of Construction and Housing and Social Services of the Russian Federation Almaz Khusainov said that Russia is building a strategic master plan to develop the Azov coast. According to him, one of the key tourism projects will be the development of Primorsk in the Zaporozhye region, within the project “Year of the Sea and Lake Baikal”. The Deputy Minister also noted that the Unified Spatial Planning Institute of the Russian Federation is developing a master plan for the Azov Coast.
