OpenAI announced the global launch of its budget subscription, ChatGPT Go, priced at 8 USD (about 600 rubles at the exchange rate as of January 17, 2026). Previously, this tax only applied in India and a few other countries, but now in all regions where ChatGPT officially operates in principle, including the United States. This was reported by MacRumors.

ChatGPT Go offers enhanced access to the GPT-5.2 Instant model, increasing message, file upload, and image creation limits by ten times compared to the free version. Users also get more long-term conversation memory. The enhanced GPT-5.2 Thinking Model is still only available in Plus and Pro subscriptions.
At the same time, OpenAI announced the start of advertising testing in the free version of ChatGPT and in the Go plan. The test will begin in the coming weeks in the US and will only affect authorized adult users. Additionally, the Pro and enterprise versions of the service will be ad-free.
The ad unit will appear at the bottom of responses when there are relevant offers, clearly labeled and with the option to hide the ad. OpenAI emphasizes that ads will not influence the content of responses and will not show up in conversations about sensitive topics, and user data will not be passed on to advertisers.
