Publications in conflict with Apple's official letter on September 16, 2024, in which the company asked FCC to limit access to documents for a certain time. The appeal emphasizes that we are talking about commercial secrets, the revelation can give competitors an unfair advantage.
Typically, Apple requires a temporary restriction on the publication of auxiliary documents – images of devices, images of the check counter and instructions for use. Such files are hidden up to 180 days after granting a license for the device. In the case of iPhone 16E, it is about the documents that the company intends to close without time limit.
FCC has not yet commented on the reality of leaks. According to preliminary data, the reason may be a mistake in the settings of the part database.
It is thought that engineers and researchers may extract valuable data from these drawings and understand how the signals pass between chips where test scores and more. This will simplify diagnosis and repair, and also helps identify potential holes in the device, which hackers can use.
