According to the scientist, to prevent catastrophic consequences, it is necessary to remove carbon dioxide from the atmosphere. He emphasized that 10 billion tons of carbon dioxide need to be purified annually. This measure will limit global warming to only 1.7°C.
Accomplishing this task through technological means will require building the second largest technology industry in the world after oil and gas. The cost of such construction could reach trillions of dollars per year. In addition, it is necessary to radically reduce emissions into the atmosphere.
