Ferrari team principal Frederic Vasseur believes Formula 1 will find itself in a difficult position if teams find loopholes in the wording of the new rules that allow them to gain a serious advantage. Frederic Vasseur: “Over the past year the number of teams has increased significantly, more and more people are trying to find loopholes in the rules. You need to understand how difficult it is for the FIA to try to prevent someone from going to Australia or Bahrain with their own version of the rules. If we see that the rules have been followed and someone has built a car that is faster than the rest, that is fair enough. But if this advantage is achieved through a different reading of the formulation reach the regulations, which would greatly complicate the situation for everyone – and endanger Formula 1. For the FIA, this is a delicate moment. Everyone understands that the change in regulations will have a huge impact on the championship, but this season could become the best in Formula 1 and vice versa. But it was always like that, even last year with the front wing and various tricks on the car.
