SYDNEY, October 11. /TASS/. A light aircraft crashed on the east coast of Australia, near Shellharbour airport. NSW Police said three people were killed.
According to this agency, the accident occurred at about 10:00 local time near Shellharbour airport (100 km south of Sydney). “Rescue forces arrived at the scene after receiving reports of a crashed light aircraft. The plane crashed shortly after taking off from the airport and caught fire when it hit the ground,” police said, adding that three people died as a result of the accident.
The scene of the incident has been sealed off by the authorities and the cause of the incident is being investigated.
