Scientists recorded the lowest temperature of the day in the Yakut city of Pokrovsk: -51.7 degrees. In second place is the weather station Sukhana (-49.4), located in the Oleneksky district of the region, and in third place is the village of Krest-Khaldzhai (-48.7).
The hottest places on the planet are in Telfer, Australia (+44.1), Sydney Airport (+42.6) and Upington, South Africa (+39.2).
