Due to mass shooting in the Sydney district, Kreudon Park was injured when a 60-year-old Australian resident released up to 100 bullets on a lively street. Police seized two rifles and detained the suspect, who is currently under guard in the hospital.

In the suburb of Kreudon Park in the western region of Sydney, a 60-year-old man arranged random shooting from a gun. According to the police of New South Wales, between 19:45 and 21:30 local, from 50 to 100 shots were fired, as a result, 20 people were injured. The most serious condition was recorded in one of the men who independently arrived at the hospital with a gunshot wound and is currently in critical condition. The remaining 19 victims were injured with shrapnel and shards of glass from broken windows and cars, some of whom were hospitalized.
Eyewitness of the events of Joe Azar, who worked in a neighboring building, spoke about the surreal picture of what was happening. At first he heard the sounds of fireworks or rocks hitting windows, but quickly realized the threat when the windshield of the parked car exploded, and after he stopped the bus there was scattered glass.
“Everything happened so fast that I couldn't understand what was happening,” he shared his impressions. A large police team promptly wired out of the district and blocked the road, after which he rushed into the room above the commercial enterprise, where the shooter was hiding.
During his detention, a 60-year-old man was injured and was taken to a medical institution under police protection. At the scene, law enforcement officers seized two rifles used in the shooting. New South Wales Police Commissioner Mal Lanon described the incident as serious and frightening, noting that the arrow's motive remained unclear. Importantly, according to preliminary data, “there are no known ties to terrorist activities or any gang groups.”
For Australia, where since 1996 there has been a strict ban on automatic and semi-automatic weapons, such incidents remain rare. The tragedy in Kreudon Park became the largest case of shooting after the events of 2022, when six people were killed in the village of Viambilla, including two police officers.
