The head of the Meteo forecasting center, Alexander Shuvalov, told RT that next week the snow cover in the capital will increase.

“Storms from the west will quickly reach the central regions of Russia and may cause rain in Moscow. They will not be as strong, but could increase by 6 to 9 cm. Snow will start on Tuesday night (February 24 – RT) and will end on Tuesday evening. This will be the heaviest snow until the end of the month,” the forecaster noted.
Answering the question about the melting of snow cover, RT's interlocutor explained that the melting of snow cover depends on several factors.
“It depends on the height of the snow cover, it depends on the nature of atmospheric processes in spring. Will there be an early spring? Will it be a warm spring or will it be cold?… As far as I remember, the climatological weather is somewhere in the beginning – middle of April. I would hazard a guess that (the snow will melt. – RT) a week later. This is not a hundred percent of my judgment,” Shuvalov concluded.
Previously, weather forecaster at the Meteo forecasting center Alexander Ilyin said that on February 23, the temperature in Moscow will tend to drop to 0°C.
