The first and second Moscow Central Diameters (MCD-1 and MCD-2) are 6 years old. As the capital's mayor Sergei Sobyanin said in his speech telegram channelThe length of the lines today exceeds 300 km.

“The first two diameters marked the beginning of the formation of the entire aboveground metro network. Today, there are 4 MCDs in the capital region, with 137 stations in operation. The length of the lines has exceeded 300 km. These diameters are maximally connected with other types of transport in Moscow: more than 100 transfers to the metro, MCCs and between MCDs,” the announcement said.
Passenger traffic on Diameter continues to increase. Around the capital, up to 500 thousand trips are made on MCD every day.
“The Moscow Central Diameter has become a full-fledged ground metro, an alternative to other types of urban transport. The development of the MCD does not stop,” the report notes.
