Experts have begun restoring four lion sculptures that have stood on the gate of the residential building of the General Staff of the Soviet Armed Forces in Ermolaevsky Lane for 80 years. The building has cultural heritage status, also known as “the house of lions”.

The most severely damaged sculpture on the northern columns was dismantled and transported to the workshop for inspection and removal of casts. On the south columns, they are now removing the mold from the second figure, previously cleaned and coated with a protective compound.
Work is also being carried out on two pairs of gate posts. The official statement said that once the restoration process is complete, the sculptures will be returned to their original location. website Mayor of Moscow.
