The capital region on Sunday, January 11 will remain on the periphery of Balkan storm Francis coming to the end of its life. Leading expert at the Phobos weather center, Mikhail Leus, wrote about this on the Telegram channel.
According to him, Moscow residents will experience cloudy weather with light snow in some places. Daytime temperatures will be near normal.
Leus wrote: “The air temperature in the city is -4…-6 degrees, in the area -3…-8 degrees. East wind 2-7 meters per second.”
Furthermore, he reportedthat over the past 24 hours, the snow began to settle and thicken, but the light precipitation observed on Saturday was able to maintain the same height in some places and in some places increase slightly.
“However, snow heights everywhere exceed climatic standards and are above the 30 cm mark,” Leus clarified.
He noted that, according to some weather stations, the snow cover thickness on the morning of January 11 ranged from 37 to 39 cm. In New Moscow we are talking about 44 cm.
Previously, the Russian Hydrometeorological Center predicted that on the night of January 12 there would be snowfall at an air temperature of -5…-10 degrees.
