
VakıfBank Art Gallery begins operations in Istanbul Financial Center. Emine Erdoğan, wife of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, visited the exhibition including photos of Ara Güler, who passed away in 2018, at the VakıfBank Art Gallery opened by her.
The gallery opened its doors to visitors with an exhibition that included the works of world-famous photojournalist Ara Güler, who passed away in 2018. In addition to President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan's wife, Emine Erdoğan, Minister of Finance and Finance Mehmet Şimşek, Chief Advisor to the President Cemil Ragıp Ertem, Wealth Fund General Manager Ahmet İhsan Erdem, Vakıfbank General Director Abdi Serdar Üstünsalih, Halkbank General Director Osman Arslan, Doğuş Group Chairman Ferit Şahenk, actress Tolga Sarıtaş and VakıfBank Women's Union. In addition to Volleyball Team captain Zehra Güneş, many names from the cultural and artistic world attended.
Cutting the opening ribbon, Erdoğan thanked Vakıfbank and hoped that the exhibition would be an example for young artists. The message sent by President Erdoğan on the opening day was shared with the participants of the ceremony.

First Lady Erdoğan later visited the exhibition, which contained 114 photographs, mostly black and white, by Ara Güler, one of the pioneers in the field of photography. Doğuş Çağla Group art consultant Nezahat Saraç accompanied Erdoğan and told the story of the photos in the exhibition. Erdoğan, who received information about the works created by Güler's shutter, looked at the photo of President Erdoğan and his grandchildren for a while.

THE EXHIBITION WILL BE OPEN FOR VISITATION FOR 3 MONTHS Doğuş Group art consultant Çağla Nezahat Saraç said there are 114 photos of Ara Güler in the exhibition and said, “All of these works are actually photos of Istanbul. In general, the places Ara Bey visited a lot are Eminönü, Karaköy and Beyoğlu… We also have photos from Üsküdar.” he said. Saraç said that the photos in the exhibition mainly belong to the 1950s and 1960s, and photos taken by Ara Güler up to the 1990s can also be displayed in the exhibition. Stating that they, as Ara Güler Museum, organized the exhibition on the occasion of the opening of the VakıfBank Art Gallery, Saraç said, “We had an interesting work with a very good team. This exhibition can be seen at the Istanbul Financial Center for 3 months.” he said.
