
The US Treasury Department has reduced its loan forecast for the fourth quarter of this year to $569 billion.
The US Treasury Department has published loan forecasts for the period from October to December this year and from January to March 2026.
In the statement it was stated that the treasury expects to borrow $569 billion in the fourth quarter of 2025.
The statement stated that the cash balance at the end of December is expected to be $850 billion and the borrowing estimate is $21 billion lower than the amount announced in July. The statement stated that in the first quarter of next year, borrowings of $578 billion are expected and the cash balance at the end of March is expected to be $850 billion. The statement said that the Treasury borrowed $1.058 trillion between July and September and that the cash balance at the end of the quarter was $891 billion. In a forecast shared in July, the Department announced that the Treasury expected to borrow $1.007 trillion in the third quarter of this year and the cash balance at the end of September was forecast to be $850 billion.
