
Minister of Labor and Social Security Vedat Işıkhan announced that the meeting reached a common conclusion on the minimum pension level under the chairmanship of Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz. Işıkhan said, “However, the final decision here belongs to our Parliament.”
Minister of Labor and Social Security Professor Dr. Vedat Işıkhan made a statement on the regulation regarding the lowest pension expected by millions of retirees.
Vedat Işıkhan said in the live broadcast he participated in that, as the Ministry, they conducted analysis and impact assessment before deciding to increase pensions. Işıkhan stated that a reflection on budget resources and the number of people who will be affected have been calculated.
Emphasizing that a common conclusion was reached at the meeting chaired by Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz, Işıkhan said, “However, the final decision here belongs to our Council. I especially want to emphasize this. We will not subject our retirees to inflation.”
