Bulgaria's industrial production rate fell even faster in August.
Industrial production in Bulgaria decreased by 8.7% year-on-year in August 2025, continuing to decline after an 8.4% decline in the previous month. This was the ninth consecutive month of decline in industrial activity and the sharpest decline since April, driven by significant declines across all sectors. Production continued to fall in the electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning (-30.8%, vs -35% in July) and manufacturing (-4.6%, vs 3.5%) sectors, while mining and quarrying fell 6.9%, after rising 2.1% in the previous month. On a seasonally adjusted monthly basis, industrial activity fell 0.1% in August, about the same pace as the previous period.
