Concerns for people bringing phones from abroad: How much is the IMEI 2026 registration fee?

Along with October inflation data released by the Turkish Institute of Statistics (TUIK), IMEI registration fees valid until 2026 were also revealed. In order for mobile phones brought from abroad to be used in Türkiye, they must be IMEI registered through e-Government.

The Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK) released inflation data for October. With the published figures, the revaluation rate applicable to 2026 also became clear. International phone IMEI registration fees, one of the items closely watched by people, will also increase according to the revaluation rate. Accordingly, the IMEI registration fee will increase by 25.49% in 2026 and the new fee will take effect at the beginning of the year.
The fee, which increased from 31,692 TL to 45,614 TL with a revaluation rate of 43.93% in the previous period, will increase to 57,241 TL according to the new rate of 25.49% announced this year.
Thus, by 2026, the amount payable when registering an international phone brought to Türkiye will exceed the limit of 57 thousand liras. The new fee will take effect from January 1, 2026. The last day for those who want to register IMEI before the fee increase is December 31, 2025.
To use a phone from abroad in Türkiye, the IMEI registration fee determined by the BTK (Information and Communications Technology Agency) must be paid. This fee is paid through the Revenue Administration (GİB). Visit the GİB website: ivd.gib.gov.tr. Click on the “Valuable Document Fees and Payment” tab. Select the option “Passenger carry-on phone (IMEI) license fee”. Enter your TR ID number and pay with a credit card.
With banking applications: Payments can be made at the mobile or internet branches of the contracted banks by following the link “IMEI Fee Tax Payment”. Registration process: After payment, enter the “BTK IMEI Registration” page in e-Government, upload the IMEI number, passport information and payment receipt.
IMEI registration of phones purchased from abroad in 2025 can only be done through e-Government. The device's IMEI number, passport information and last date of entry into Türkiye are required for this process. After entering e-Government, enter “BTK IMEI Save” in the search bar and fill out the resulting form. If the device is not registered, it will turn off the network after approximately 120 days. Additionally, the same person can register the IMEI every three years. Illegally changing or “resetting” the IMEI is a crime; Your device may be confiscated. The safest and most reasonable way is to use the official service of the CCC on e-Government.
