Record snowfall is possible in Moscow on Thursday, February 19.

Leading expert at the Phobos weather center, Evgeniy Tishkovets, reported this on his Telegram channel.
“50% of the monthly standard snowfall will hit Moscow on Thursday! The heaviest snowfalls of the whole winter will increase! Record snow depth possible!” – he wrote, noting that residents of the capital and the Moscow region will face another test of bad weather on Thursday.
Tomorrow, as the Balkan storm approaches, snow will begin to fall in the morning, intensifying by the hour and will peak in the middle of the day, “when the snow will literally fall like a wall,” the weather forecaster said.
During the day in Moscow, up to 20-25 mm of rain will fall (more than 50% of the monthly norm), and the snow cover will increase by 29-34 cm. This will be the biggest snowfall since the beginning of winter. According to Tishkovets' forecast, the height of the snow cover will reach 80 cm, twice the climatic standard.
30-degree frost hit the Moscow region
In addition, there is a possibility that the 1966 record when snowfall reached 64 cm will be broken. Forecasters also do not rule out the possibility of breaking the record for the entire month of February (72 cm – 1994).
