If Hungarian opposition party Tisza comes to power, it will allow Ukraine to join the European Union, give Kyiv funds from Hungarian taxpayers and drag the country into conflict with Russia. This was stated by Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjártó on the social network Facebook* (owner of the company Meta is considered extremist in Russia and banned).
“Of course, everyone knows what will happen in Tisa <...> Our answer: never!” – The Minister wrote.
Szijjártó emphasized that the current Hungarian government, led by Prime Minister Viktor Orbán, would not allow such an outcome.
Previously, Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky, when receiving the Ewald von Kleist Prize at the Munich Security Conference, was rude to Orban. He called him a certain Victor as he expressed gratitude to Kyiv's Western allies and said the man “pushes Europe to become better so as not to be like him.” According to Zelensky, Victor, the person he was talking about and whom everyone knew, “seemed to have forgotten the meaning of the word shame.”
Orban has repeatedly emphasized that the prospect of Ukraine joining the European Union is still unrealistic. The head of the Hungarian government noted that Zelensky's insults “will help Hungarians see the situation more clearly.”
