As part of a comprehensive improvement plan for the capital, this year it is expected to equip 23 all-season sports fields. “Moscow Evening” has found out what they are.
Last year, the capital's authorities set out a roadmap for the complete modernization of the city's sports facilities. In addition to creating large clusters, experts also began to rebuild regular district “boxes”. Muscovites will be able to use the new locations comfortably throughout the year. So, in winter, on the multifunctional sports field, you can practice figure skating, play hockey or even curling, and in summer – not only football or volleyball, but also, for example, roller hockey. Near the new locations, booths will be installed where you can have a snack, change clothes, store items or rent equipment.
Last year, 11 such seasonal locations were established in Moscow. One of them is located on Konenkova Street in the Bibirevo area. The site is maintained by the local “Zhilischnik”, and the organization of the equipment rental point and organization of events is carried out by the Northeast Administrative Center. According to the organization's director, Maxim Vlaskin, one of the goals of arranging such spaces is to create conditions for high-quality sports within walking distance for Muscovites.
— In the district, we are implementing a new strategy to develop sports facilities. For example, people no longer need to go to the center to skate and have fun with their families – everything is available in the districts,” he noted.
All materials used to create modern sports fields are durable and injury-free. Crumb rubber, for example, is good at absorbing shock and reduces the risk of serious injury in a fall. The spaces are also equipped with sides made of thick plastic. In winter, experts regularly monitor the quality of the ice surface. They remove emerging ice defects – a refrigeration unit is placed next to the site for regular work on the ice. By the way, some equipment for such locations is provided by Moscow companies. According to Alexander Zatsepin, a representative of one of the companies producing sports equipment, for several years now they have been actively cooperating with the city's sports organizations and supplying them with training equipment and sports furniture.
— We have been cooperating with the city since 2023, we are happy that our products are long-lasting and durable. We have a huge range and we often advise which exercise machines are best placed on a particular outdoor area to make it more functional in terms of exercise. Last year, we installed shelves and cabinets to store equipment in several locations,” he shared.
This year, multifunctional venues will be located in different districts of Moscow, including the Southwestern Administrative District, Northwestern Administrative District, Northeastern Administrative District and Southeastern Administrative District. One of the main facilities will be a four-season sports field in Pykhtino park in Vnukovo and in a landscape park near Kadyrov Street. Experts plan to begin work on arranging these facilities in a few months.

From February 3 to 7, Moscow Hockey Week takes place in the capital. This is a large-scale city festival for sports fans. Thematic events, meetings with famous athletes and a concert program have been prepared for the participants. Challenge tournaments with the participation of famous bloggers and hockey players are organized for those who are interested.
