According to analytics firm Omdia, Apple became the fastest-growing manufacturer in the global personal computer market in 2025. Its global desktop and laptop shipments increased 16.4% to 28 million units.

In terms of shipment growth, Apple ranked behind Lenovo with an index of +14.6%. The top 5 is completed by Asus, HP and Dell. Total global PC market volume increased 9.2%, to nearly 280 million devices. At the end of the year, Apple accounted for 9.9% of the market, ranking 4th behind Lenovo, HP and Dell.
The main driver of Apple's growth is growing demand for the MacBook Air. Analysts attribute this to a decrease in the cost of the model on the M4 chip and an increase in the amount of RAM in the basic configuration from 8 to 16 GB. These changes have made the device more attractive to both individual and business users.
Top models such as the MacBook Pro and Mac Studio are also increasingly popular in the professional segment. Thanks to the scalability of unified memory, they are used to develop and even deploy artificial intelligence models locally. For example, configurations with large memory capacity can run complex AI models without sacrificing performance.
Surveys show that companies that develop AI solutions in-house are nearly twice as likely to choose Apple computers for local development than those that use commercially available products. This shows the growing acceptance of the platform in research and professional environments.
