US cloud service provider GMI Cloud announced it will build a $500 million artificial intelligence (AI) data center in Taiwan. The infrastructure will use Nvidia Blackwell GB300 processors and is expected to launch in March 2026.

The data center will install approximately 7,000 graphics processors housed in 96 racks. The system will be able to process nearly 2 million tokens per second with a power consumption of 16 megawatts. Among the facility's first customers are Nvidia itself, cybersecurity company Trend Micro and electronics manufacturer Wistron.
GMI Cloud already operates data centers in the US, Singapore, Thailand and Japan. The company also plans to build a new 50 MW facility in the US and consider an initial public offering within the next two to three years.
