The President of the US Federal Reserve (Fed) Jerome Powell said on Tuesday (September 23) that they should continue to balance the risks of conflicts between high -interest inflation and weak labor market. “Short -term risk is to go up to inflation, go down, go down to work.” He said. The current interest rate is from 4 to 4.25 %. Although this level is considered enough to limit the price prints, “it makes us in a strong position in meeting the economic development. Our policies are not on the way that is determined in advance,” he said.

The Fed's next meeting will be held on October 28-29. Investors are pricing very likely to expect a quarter to reduce interest rates in October and December. However, the views are divided in the committee. Powell is moving on a cautious line right now and waiting for new data.

At the sixth meeting in 2025, the Fed earned a basic 25-point policy interest rate to 4.00-4.25 %. This discount is the first decision to reduce interest rates of the year.
