This year, “Istanbul two years 18”, held under the title “Three -Bagged Cat”, started on September 20. The festival's press conference was held at the old French orphan garden.
The countdown has begun for “Istanbul for two years” organized by the Istanbul Culture and Art Organization (̇KSV) under the title “Three Leged Cat” this year. Managed by the festival with the support of Koç Holding, Lebanon Christine Tohme is the person in charge.
The first stage of Istanbul the 18th year, built with a widespread structure for three years, will be able to access it for free on September 20 to November 25. For the first time, the work of 47 artists from different geographical areas of the world will be displayed in places intertwined with historical structures and dynamic structures. In addition to exhibitions within the scope of every two years, different activities will meet art lovers.
Speaking at the press conference of the festival held at the French orphanage garden, Bülent Eczacıbaş, Chairman of the Board of Directors of ̇KSV, “Istanbul Biennial, Istanbul is one of the most important steps in our vision for creating cultural centers worldwide.
“We have displayed the works of hundreds of artists in Istanbul. We were a means to discover dozens of places with art,” Eczacıbaş, mentioned the contribution of every two years to the art life.
“Our inspiration is the goal of Atatürk.”
President Komer M. Ko is stated that they see their support for cultural continuity as part of social responsibility and say: He emphasized that art is the most basic criterion in approaching the level of contemporary civilization, “he said.

18. Istanbul Biennial, beyond the usual formats this year, the structure spread in three years preparing to meet its audience. The first leg of this version, titled “Three Legged Cat”, is shaped around the themes of “self -protection” and “future ability”. Every two years will continue by 2026 and 2027 with second and third legs. This year, every two years is spreading up to 8 locations on the Beyeğlu-Karaköy line in the walking distance.
